Community Accepted Solution. How do I permanently fix this? None of these have fixed the problem. This was the only hardware change made. Cable 1. ATI have a fault with the latest drivers that causes the sound the go when the display is switched off, i had no problem with previous drivers but now i do. They have supposedly fixed it in the new beta drivers but did'nt work for me i think you have to make sure old drivers are completely removed, its worth a try.
